Hi, I’m Dana. I have had a fascination with beautiful shiny things for my whole life. You should also know, I am afraid of fire! This is important because to make my jewelry I need fire, and a lot of it! I have always had an idea or two running around in my head for a necklace, a ring or a what-have-you. However, I needed fire to make these things. A couple of years ago, in a quest to conquer a fear, I took a torch class and was forever changed. Now, while I am still afraid of fire, I have learned to use it to my advantage. Fire and I have a healthy respect for each other.
Crock ‘n Crow grew from a small little interest. I made things for my friends and myself. However, when my very good friend’s brother passed away, I thought I would make his sisters and mother a gift to remember him by. My initials were born. I made a ‘j’ for each of them, stamped mom and sister on the back and gave them the cut out to bury with him. This way they had a connection to him that will continue on. As people began to see my initials, the orders began to come in and Crock ‘n Crow began to grow.
Each of my pieces is made from the heart and is something I would, and do, wear. I look forward to working with you on your “shiny thing.”
